The KY-017 Mercury Medallion Module combines a mercury switch, a 680Ω resistor, and an LED to create a tilt-sensitive lighting effect. When the module is tilted, the mercury ball inside the switch shifts, either completing or breaking the circuit. This action turns the LED on or off based on the module’s orientation. Equipped with a digital 13 interface, the module integrates easily with microcontrollers like Arduino. This setup allows for the creation of a simple circuit that responds to tilt by lighting up the LED. Additionally, the mercury tilt switch connects to a digital 3 interface, which detects the tilt and controls the LED. When the switch is tilted, the LED lights up; when it’s not, the LED stays off. This setup provides clear and responsive visual feedback based on the module’s position.
